WoW Profession Guide: Cooking

In World of Warcraft, the Cooking profession enables players to create various types of food with different ingredients. Consuming Food recovers your character’s HP, and certain cooked food cast the “Well Fed” buff on your character, which may increase your character’s total HP, Stamina, and Spirit.

Cooking requires a lot of ingredients, so you might want to buy WoW Gold to make sure you have everything you need. You can also make some WoW Gold by selling the food you create.

Proficiency

As with all professions, Cooking has six proficiency levels, which are listed in the table below. As you increase your character’s level and your Cooking skill level, you can increase your Cooking Proficiency by visiting an Cooking Trainer. While any Cooking Trainer in Azeroth can teach you Apprentice to Artisan Cooking, you can only learn Master Cooking in Outland or Northrend, and Grand Master Cooking in Northrend.

Training costs WoW Gold, and the prices differ depending on whether you chose Cooking as your Primary or Secondary profession.

Leveling Cooking

The first thing you need to do is to visit a Cooking Trainer in one of Azeroth’s main cities to learn Apprentice Cooking. This section contains a table that shows you which items to create to level up your Proficiency in the fastest, most efficient manner.

Do the daily cooking quest given by Awilo Lon’gomba (Horde) or  Katherine Lee (Alliance) in Dalaran and stock up on Dalaran Cooking Awards (you’ll be using those to buy recipes from here on out). Purchase recipes from Misensi (Horde) or Derek Odds in Dalaran, and keep making any of them until skill level 425.

425-450

Learn Gigantic Feast or Small Feast from Misensi or Derek Odds, and keep making either of them until you reach skill level 450.

Now that you know the most efficient way to level up your Cooking skill, you’ll get up to 450 in no time. Remember to share your feasts with your friends and partymates during raids; the Well Fed buff comes in handy when dealing with bosses for hours on end.
