FFXI Guide - Clothcraft

In Final Fantasy XI (FFXI), Clothcrafters are able to create items out of thread and cloth, such as pants, shirts, and capes.

A lot of the supplies you need for Clothcrafting can be purchased from guild merchant or from other players for FFXI Gil, so you might want to buy FFXI Gil to ensure that you have enough funds for your crafting materials.

Clothcrafting Ranks and Tests

To become a Clothcrafter, go to the upper level of the primary Clothcrafter’s Guild in Windurst Woods (G-12) and speak to Guildmaster Ponono. You will then become a Clothcrafter with the rank Amateur.

To advance your rank as a Clothcrafter, you have to speak to Ponono and complete the tests she gives you. These tests will require you to craft specific items.

As with all the crafts, there are 9 ranks in Clothcrafting. Below is a table listing the ranks, what skill level you need to be at to take your next test, and what item you need to craft (ingredients for the items can be found in the Recipes section of this guide).

Guild Points

Each craft has a Guild Union Representative and you can turn in a certain item each day to the representative and receive Guild Points as a reward. To begin doing this as a Clothcrafter, you will have to speak to Hauh Colphioh at the Windurst Woods (G-12) and sign a contract (note that signing another contract will cause you to forfeit any Guild Points you accumulated while under your first contract). You can use your Guild Points to purchase tools, key item abilities, and signature crystals.

Below is a table of items you can purchase using your Guild Points. Signature Crystals (crystals that can be used in place of regular Crystals while crafting and adds the crafter’s “signature” to the crafted items) can be purchased at any rank, but the other items and abilities that can be purchased require you to be at a certain guild rank.

Tailor's Ring	Craftsman	80,000 Guild Points		Increases Clothcraft Success Rate by 1%. Cannot synthesize high quality items.
Weaver's Apron	Artisan	100,000 Guild Points		An apron that increases your Clothcrafting skill by 1.
Gilt Tapestry	Veteran	150,000 Guild Points		A piece of Furniture that gives Moghancement: Clothcrafting Skill (increases Clothcrafting skill).
Weaver's Signboard	Veteran	200,000 Guild Points		A sign used by tailors to indicate their guild's services to the public.

Synthesis Image Support

Acquiring the Synthesis Image Support status effect from guild NPCs will increase your crafting skill by one for 50 Vana’diel minutes (2 minutes in real time). You may also acquire the Advanced Synthesis Image Support status effect which raises your crafting skill by 3, but that costs a small amount of FFXI Gil based on your crafting rank. Below is a table of recipes available to Clothcrafters. Note that certain items can turn out as either Normal Quality or High Quality (HQ) when crafted. High Quality items, as the name implies, have better quality/stats (or are produced in larger quantity) than Normal Quality items.

Crafting some of the items below require other Clothcrafting abilities such as Spinning and Cloth Enscorcellment, or that you have a certain amount of skill points invested in other crafting skills.
