WoW Summer Challenges and Other WoW News

WoW Summer Challenges

Summer’s here! Put aside your Warcraft gold, go outside, smell the roses and lay in the sun till you’re burnt to a crisp! Just kidding, I would never, ever recommend putting aside Warcraft gold.

So, what to do this summer? Here are some suggestions:

  1. Go hiking and camping in the woods (Do you think there’s WiFi at Yellowstone Park?)
  2. Catch up on your reading (Yes, because Finnegans Wake is such a compelling read.)
  3. Do all the chores you’ve neglected since winter (Hmm, maybe you could go another 3000 miles without changing your oil?)
  4. Spend uninterrupted quality time with your favorite MMO

If you think “4” is a great option (and that’s what I wanted you to go for), then you should join the WoW Summer Challenges. (Before starting on any of the challenges, buy safe WoW gold first.) Now on its second week, the challenges take you and a bunch of friends to not-often visited locales in Azeroth to partake of quests, raids and some good-ole adventuring.

For this week, the challenge is Karazhan, the abandoned citadel in the south of Deadwind Pass. According to the official site:

Medivh, the Last Guardian, made his home in Deadwind Pass, in the bright tower of Karazhan. Though he was the greatest wizard of his day (and humanity’s intended custodian) Medivh was secretly possessed by the dark spirit of Sargeras, the Destroyer of Worlds. Through Medivh, Sargeras opened the Dark Portal and allowed the orcs to wage war upon the kingdoms of Azeroth.

Complete the challenge to earn notable achievements such as Karazhan and Karazhan Guild Run, desirable gear such as Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle, Gorehowl and Shield of Impenetrable Darkness, and rare drops such as Enchant Weapon – Mongoose, Sunfire and Soulfrost, plus many more! Pack up your WoW gold and get going now!

Talent Calculator Updated

The Mists of Pandaria Talent Calculator has been updated with the latest improvements set to be implemented with the upcoming expansion. Take a gander at the new WoW MoP Talent Page.

Pandaria’s First Legendary?

The good people over at have datamined what looks to be Pandaria’s first Legendary. Breath of the Black Prince, binds when picked up, “greatly empowers any piece of Sha-Touched equipment [and] removes all existing gems and enchants.”

They’ve also unearthed three procs: Hammer of Ten Thunders (melee attacks “blast your enemy with 10800 to 16200 nature damage”), Jade Infused Blade (melee attacks “encase your enemy in jade, stunning them for 3 sec”), and Yaungol Fire (melee attacks “set your enemies ablaze, dealing 882 damage every 2 sec for 10 sec”).

Needless to say, non-class based Legendary will be –wait for it—legendary.

More Options for Female Pandaren

And now, for those who take forever to make their new toons, this one’s for you. Further customization of female pandaren is now possible on the MoP beta. Eight new hair dyes, and five earrings-style options have been added. The face looks exactly the same, though.

Upcoming: Midsummer Fire Festival

Set your sights on the upcoming Midsummer Fire Festival. Scheduled from June 21-July 4, this year’s fest will include achievements such as Flame Warden (for Alliance characters) and Flame Keeper (for Horde). No official word from Blizz yet, but stand by with your Warcraft gold, ‘cause if it’s anything like last year’s, there’ll be King of the Fire Festival, Stealing Thunder Bluff’s Flame, Burning Hot Pole Dance, and Torch Juggler, among other things. We’ll let you know when Blizz makes the official announcement.
