Cataclysm sold 3.3 million copies in first 24 hours plus fans deserve WoW Gold!

World of Warcraft is just owning the record books these days, with its third Cataclysm expansion beating all the previous ones in 24-hour sales. 3.3 million boxes and digital copies sold at launch day, according to Blizzard, far more than the Wrath of the Lich King record of 2.8 million copies sold back in 2008.

WoW fans should celebrate, but it would be better if Blizzard gave us all WoW Gold as a token of appreciation! Cataclysm has been a success because of all the great new content and items, and a bit of WoW Gold will go a long way in-game.

The big boss of Blizzard was, of course, ecstatic about the record. Reading his rave below made me imagine Mike with dollar signs in his eyes accompanied by a big toothy grin. LOL.

“We had to bring Azeroth to the brink of destruction in Cataclysm, but the result was our best expansion yet,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment in the official press release. “We want to thank all of our new, existing, and returning players throughout the world for their incredible enthusiasm and support, and we look forward to hearing what they think about all the new content.”

The question now is how is Blizzard gonna top this? Some are speculating the next expansion will bring us to the Emerald Dream or its corrupted version, the Emerald Nightmare. That would be cool because that means more face time with the sexy Ysera and her sister Alexstrasza.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, better finish up Cataclysm first. Make sure to buy WoW Gold now at or Deathwing and his minions will eat you alive — use it to buy auction house gear, gems, enchants and crafted epics. Good luck!
